Deacon Mark was born in 1960, and is the oldest of 6 children. He grew up in Midlothian and attended St. Christopher Catholic School from 1st to 7th grade. In 1972 his family moved to Green Garden and became members of St. Boniface parish. In 1992 his wife, Anita, and two daughters, Leah and Amber, became members of St Boniface as well. He soon became a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. In 1998 he began teaching the 7th grade CCD class under the leadership of Sister Cherubim. In 2003 he became the director of the religious education program. In 2004 Father Mark asked that he prayerfully consider the Diaconate. Through the Holy Spirit, God called him to this ministry and in 2009 he was ordained to the permanent diaconate in the Diocese of Joliet under Bishop Peter Sartan. He feels blessed to be of service to the family here at St. Boniface, and to work and minister alongside Father Mark Menezes, and now Father Roger Kutzner.
